Welcome to the International Conference on "Advancing Solutions for Climate Change Challenges in Rural Viet Nam." This conference aims to advance scientific understanding, promote knowledge exchange, and inspire collective action toward a more climate-resilient and sustainable future for Vietnam and the broader region.

Viet Nam faces significant climate-related challenges, particularly in its rural areas where communities heavily depend on agriculture and natural resources. The impacts of climate change, including rising temperatures, altered rainfall patterns, increased frequency of extreme weather events, and sea-level rise, pose serious threats to the livelihoods, food security, and overall well-being of these communities, etc.. Addressing these issues requires a multi-faceted approach, integrating scientific research, innovation, and community engagement.

This international conference, co-organized by Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (Viet Nam) and the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF – also known as World Agroforestry) in Viet Nam, brings together leading experts, policymakers, researchers, and community leaders to discuss and develop effective climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies tailored to Viet Nam's unique rural context. By leveraging the diverse expertise and insights of our participants, we aim to contribute meaningfully to Viet Nam's efforts in addressing the adverse effects of climate change and achieving its sustainable development goals.

Key topics to be explored include the impacts of climate change on rural communities, best practices in climate adaptation and mitigation, capacity building for local stakeholders, and enhancing community resilience. Through knowledge sharing, collaborative dialogue, and innovative thinking, the conference aspires to empower rural communities to become proactive agents of change in their resilience-building efforts.

We look forward to engaging discussions and fruitful exchanges that will pave the way for actionable solutions and strengthened cooperation among all stakeholders. Together, we can advance the solutions needed to meet the climate change challenges head-on and build a sustainable future for rural Viet Nam.
