FIELD VISIT PROGRAM

Objective:

Within the framework of the Thai Nguyen Climate Change Conference, the field trip program aims to provide participants with more information and practical experience on the topics of the Conference, promote in-depth discussions at the conference and enhance networking. At the same time, it helps delegates understand the importance of satellite models for the function of climate change learning centre.

Logistics:

The Organizing Committee's car will pick up delegates at the hotel and take them to visit the site. Due to the large number of delegates, the Organizing Committee will organize field trips at 02 different locations. Delegates will choose the location they want to visit based on their interests, the Organizing Committee will arrange 02 50-seat vehicles to take delegates to 02 different routes: Dong Hy district and Thai Nguyen city area. Delegates will register the location to visit with the Organizing Committee before the activity takes place.

Delegates will have lunch on the field at the location arranged by the Organizing Committee at 02 locations. The Organizing Committee including volunteers and medical staff will support delegates throughout the field trip.

Participants who chose to visit the area of Thai Nguyen city such as Phuc Xuan, Tan Cuong and Thinh Duc will experience some good practices in responding to climate change such as agroforestry landscape and biodiversity conservation, forest protection and ecosystem values, good practices in agriculture adapting to climate change, some energy saving solutions to reduce emissions in agriculture. At the same time, they will discuss the challenges and solutions in the transformation of ecological agriculture in Thai Nguyen.

  1. Dong Hy district

Participants will visit the Dong Hy district of Thai Nguyen province, including Song Cau town and Van Han commune, to experience some good practices in responding to climate change such as circular economy in agriculture, good practices in agriculture adapting to climate change, sustainable forest management according to FSC standards. At the same time, they will discuss challenges and solutions in sustainable forest management to take advantage of carbon market opportunities.
